BERLIN- A handful of former prep athletes from the local area were honored by Washington College last week at the school’s annual sports award ceremony.
Former Worcester Prep student Reno Smith was named Most Valuable Player of Washington College’s varsity rowing team, while Decatur’s Kylie Nottingham was named MVP of Washington College’s varsity softball team. Worcester Prep’s Brittany Marshall was named MVP of Washington College’s varsity tennis team and was also named to the school’s All-Academic team. Former Worcester Prep standout Stephen Pappas was recognized as the Most Improved player on the Shoremen’s varsity lacrosse team.
In unrelated news, former Worcester Prep standout lacrosse player last week was named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year after a stellar freshman season at Randolph-Macon. The Ocean City native finished his freshman season with 28 total points including 25 goals and three assists. He also had eight multi-goal games as a freshman.
