OCEAN CITY- The Greene Turtle 2013 girls’ lacrosse team, featuring some of the top high school senior players in the area, swept five games last weekend to capture the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Showcase tournament in Baltimore.

Coached by Joe Gamble and Cathi Coates, the Greene Turtle team is made up of some of the area’s best high school seniors and travels to tournaments throughout the region. Last weekend, the Greene Turtle team traveled to the Baltimore area for the Mid-Atlantic Showcase and won each of its five games over two days on Saturday and Sunday to win the championship in its division.

The Greene Turtle won its first game of the tournament last Saturday, beating Edge Elite Black, 5-4, in a tight game. The Turtle then won their second game on Saturday, beating the Rebels, 10-7. On Sunday, the Turtle started the day with a 6-3 win over Jets Pink and followed that up with another win over Lenape Black, 9-5, to reach the championship game. Late Sunday afternoon, the Greene Turtle edged the South Jersey Devils, 4-3, in the championship game.
