Worcester Prep Boys Take Donates For Hurricane Sandy In Lieu Of Birthday Gifts

12/14/2012 | By The Dispatch Staff

Liam Hammond and Dylan Meoli celebrated their 12th birthdays together with a dodge ball party and their friends and classmates at Worcester Prep. Thinking about the people who suffered from Hurricane Sandy, the boys decided that in lieu of gifts they would ask for donations for the 30 displaced families living in a retreat home on Staten Island. The effort was part of a community relief program organized by Laura Mears and Michelle Dashiell. The effort generated $1,010 in gift cards, which the boys will use to buy Christmas gifts for the families.
