BERLIN- The Berlin Dolphins youth football league teams will be holding registration for the upcoming season next Saturday, June 23, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Buckingham Elementary School field.
The Dolphins, who play in the Salvation Army “Red Shield” League against similar teams from communities all over the Eastern Shore. The Salvation Army League features two divisions with teams based on age and weight. For example, the younger divisional team is called the Berlin Dolphin Cadets and features kids ages 7-10 with a maximum weight of 120 pounds. The older division, the Berlin Dolphin Juniors, features players ages 11-13 with a maximum weight of 150 pounds.
With a talented team of experienced coaches, the Berlin Dolphins provide a fun football experience with a great success rate on the field while preparing young players for future endeavors in football. Many former Dolphin players move on to fill in the ranks at the Stephen Decatur High School program. The seeds for the 2012 program are already being planted.
