Decatur Harriers Fare Well at Regionals

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's varsity boys and girls cross-country teams wrapped up their seasons last week with a decent showing at the state Class 3A-East region meet at Centennial High School last Thursday.

The Decatur girls' cross country team finished second overall in the Bayside Conference championships and sent seven runners to the 3A-East regions last Thursday. The Seahawks finished eighth overall in the regional meet. Elizabeth Davidson was Decatur's top finisher, coming in 28th in the field of 64. Rayvn Saunders finished 30th, followed by Ciarra Thumma (44), Emmalee Murrell (55), Jenna Brower (56), Cori Thompson (58) and Robyn Bell (60).

Meanwhile, the Decatur boys' team finished with a similar result, coming in eighth overall in the field of 10 teams in the region. Cameron Campbell was the top boys' finisher, coming in 42nd, followed by Corey Zimmer (52), Garrett Mohammedioun (53), Andrew Murrell (54), Jason Wilder (55), Patrick McGean (58), and Christopher Hurley (60).
