BERLIN- The 8th Annual Toys for Tots Open golf tournament at River Run Golf Club in Berlin last Friday was a huge success with a record amount of funds raised for the worthy charity.
The 8th Annual Toys for Tots tournament last Friday at River Run raised a record $9,573, or the highest amount raised by the event since its inception eight years ago. Led by a solid sponsorship team including Rommel's Ace Hardware, the tournament blew away the old record, resulting in a nice chunk of change for the Toys for Tots program in the upcoming holiday season.
'Thanks to our sponsors, the entire $9,573 will be spent on toys from local area merchants,' said Toys for Tots coordinator Ed Hearthway.
