Sheila Zimmer of Berlin recently solicited the help of some friends to make homemade candies to sell at the Lower Shore Red Cross Celebrity Luncheon in Salisbury. An assortment of delicious Christmas treats helped to raise over $450 for the local Red Cross Chapter. Pictured, from left, at her candy wrapping party luncheon are Evonne Lee, Pearl Lasley, Betty Stork, Betsy Ludlam, Zimmer, Kathy Bellestri, Karen Kriege, Niv Kitzig and Jean Shanley.

None of the money now raised at this event stays local. It goes to Wilmington, DE and to Washington. This changed last year. Plus the local board of directors no longer have any real say in the operation of the chapter.
