OCEAN CITY- Resort police this week are investigating the discovery of a body on the beach in the area of 74th Street early last Saturday morning.
Around 2 a.m. last Saturday, Ocean City Police responded to the area of 74th Street in reference to a report of a person missing on the beach. Upon arrival, OCPD officers observed a man on the beach performing CPR on an unconscious female who appeared to have been in the ocean. OCPD officers then took over performing CPR on the victim, later identified as Tara Chanise Taylor, 32, of Lanham, Md., until Ocean City Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene.
Taylor was transported to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin where she was pronounced dead. The victim's body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Maryland in Baltimore for a complete autopsy, the results of which were not available as of press time yesterday.
The investigation is ongoing although Ocean City Police do not believe the incident is suspicious. The unidentified man found performing CPR when police arrived has been identified as a friend of the victim, and could have been her boyfriend, according to a source. He was also wet, as if he had been in the ocean, when police arrived, according to a source.
