BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams return to action this afternoon with a double-header against Delmarva Christian at home with each having perfect 7-0 records intact after the first half of the season.
The Worcester boys ran the table in the first half of the season, finishing with a perfect 7-0 mark. The Mallards opened the season with wins over Holly Grove, Greenwood Mennonite, Chincoteague, Salisbury Christian, Greenwood again and Holly Grove again. In the last game before the holiday break, the Mallards edged Central Christian, 49-45.
The Worcester boys open the second half of the season this afternoon against Delmarva Christian in the first of four straight home games. The stretch also includes home games against St. Thomas More, Saints Peter and Paul and Gunston. The Mallards don’t hit the road again until a January 16 meeting with Salisbury Christian.
Meanwhile, the Worcester girls have been equally impressive, sweeping their first seven games of the season to take a 7-0 record into the break. The Mallards open the second half of their season at home this afternoon against Delmarva Christian, also the first of four straight at home to start the second half. Like the boys’ varsity team, the girls don’t have another road game until a January 16 date with Salisbury Christian.
