BERLIN- Beach Lacrosse's under-13 boys' team won its fourth straight last weekend, beating Kent County, 7-1, behind a stingy defense and an efficient offense.
Kent County got on the board first with an early goal to take a 1-0 lead, but would not score again against Beach's tough defense led by Michael Murray. Meanwhile, the Beach offense was clicking on all cylinders, set up by a dominating performance on face-offs. Andrew Ternahan, Alec Zarif and Johnny Moore each scored in the first half, staking Beach to a 3-1 lead at the intermission.
Beach picked up where it left off in the second half, led
by Moore who scored three more goals to finish with four on the day. Brooks
Gilbert added the seventh and final goal in the second half. Beach face-off men
Zach DiFillipo and Joe Flounlacker. Beach dominated in face-offs, winning 10 of
12 on the day including all six in the second half. Gilbert, Flounlacker and
Ryder Lahr each had an assist in the game.
