Seahawks Top Parkside To Remain Unbeaten

10/22/2010 | By Shawn J. Soper, Sports Editor

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's varsity volleyball team grinded out a three-game sweep over visiting Parkside to remain unbeaten on the season with a perfect 12-0 record.

After sweeping Bennett in three games last week, the Seahawks appeared to have removed the last obstacle in a possible unbeaten regular season. Decatur beat Bennett earlier this season when both teams were unbeaten to take a commanding lead in the Bayside South standings and topped the Clippers in three games again last week to cement their stranglehold on first place.

However, Decatur still had to take care of Parkside on Tuesday and did so, although it certainly wasn't easy. The Seahawks cruised to a 25-11 win in the first game, but struggled at times throughout the remainder of the match, winning the second game, 25-21, and the third game, 25-19.
