OCEAN CITY - Ocean City Police learned this week the cause of death of a Lanham, Md. woman found on the beach in the area of 74th Street two weeks ago was an accidental drowning complicated by alcohol and drug intoxication.
Around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, Ocean City police responded to the area of 74th Street in reference to a report of a person missing on the beach. Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified man on the beach performing CPR on an unconscious female, who appeared as if she had been in the ocean. OCPD officers then took over performing CPR on the victim, later identified as Tara Chanise Taylore, 32, of Lanham, Md., until Ocean City Fire Department Paramedics arrived on the scene.
Taylor was then transported to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin where she was pronounced dead. The victim's body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Maryland in Baltimore for a complete autopsy.
This week, OCPD investigators received the results of the Chief Medical Examiner's autopsy and have conclude,d 'the victim died of an accidental drowning complicated by alcohol and drug intoxication.'
