Eight Arrests In Memorial Weekend Sting

OCEAN CITY — Over the course of the Memorial Day weekend, local law enforcement officers embarked on an ambitious undercover drug enforcement operation throughout the resort, resulting in eight felony arrests.

The Ocean City Police Criminal Investigation Division and the Narcotics Unit, along with the Worcester County Criminal Enforcement Team, last weekend conducted an undercover drug enforcement operation at various locations throughout Ocean City. The plainclothes drug investigations resulted in eight felony arrests, one citation and the seizure of various narcotics and paraphernalia. In addition, the investigating teams also seized around $600 in cash, a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer and a 2011 Chevy Tahoe.

Among those arrested were Shawn Gilmore, 25, of Ocean City; James Brooks, 25, of Snowshoe, Pa.; Danielle Clarissa Jones, 32, of Randallstown, Md.; Rodney Lamont Burnett, 32, of Baltimore; Thomas Edward Dalton, 27, of Bryan’s Road, Md.; and Jeremy Adam Thomas, 27, of Welcome, Md. Also arrested was a 17-year-old juvenile from Stevensville and a 16-year-old juvenile from Easton.

Ocean City Police said this week the Memorial Day round-up was just part of the summer-long effort to identify and arrest drug dealers with an extensive undercover operation to actively ensure the safety of residents and visitors to the Boardwalk and throughout the resort. As always, the OCPD is encouraging citizens not to use, buy or sell illegal drugs in Ocean City and throughout Worcester County.
