Seahawks Thrash Clippers, 17-3

4/13/2007 | By News Editor, Shawn J. Soper

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's men's varsity lacrosse team rebounded from its first loss of the season last week, thumping host Bennett, 17-3, on Tuesday to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Ben Kelleher scored six goals to lead Decatur in the 17-3 romp over the Clippers on Tuesday, while Logan West, Nick Hogan and Paul Kramer each added two goals. The win over Bennett helped erase the pain of last week's 13-7 loss to Bayside Conference rival Parkside, which was the Seahawks' first of the year.

The win over Bennett on Tuesday puts the Seahawks record at 3-1 and in a two-way tie for second in the Bayside Conference with Easton, who Decatur played last night in a game too late to be included in this edition. Queen Anne's and Parkside sit atop the Bayside standings with unblemished records.

After the game against Easton last night, the Seahawks will play North Caroline on the road on next Monday and Kent Island at home next Wednesday before a rematch with Parkside at home on April 23. Decatur opened the season with a 20-0 win over Kent County and followed that with a 21-0 rout of Wicomico before the loss to Parkside last week.
