The Youth Foundation Advisory Committee of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore has awarded $3,500 in grants to help youth during 2007. Grants were awarded to three nonprofit organizations including $1,000 to Green Gate Farm to provide funding for student scholarships for a summer camp program for youth. Cheryl Layfield, who has been a nurse for 27 years and a nurse practitioner for 12 years, received the Delaware Excellence in Nursing Practice Award for Advanced Practice at the Delaware Nurses Association Awards Banquet held in Dover in July.
