Stephen Decatur Middle School recently congratulated Kelly Marx, winner of the Space Camp Essay Contest. She won a one-week scholarship with airfare to attend Space Camp in Huntsville, Ala., an official Space Camp flight suit and $100 in spending money. Hammond's attendance at the camp earned her school the scholarship to grant one student the same opportunity. She is the daughter of Jean and Kurt Marx of Berlin.

Berlin Intermediate School's sixth grade band students performed for students and staff as part of the school-wide holiday celebration. Sixth graders showed off their musical skills by performing a variety of traditional holiday songs.
