Beach Lacrosse Seeking Players, Coaches

BERLIN- The Beach Lacrosse program is currently seeking interested boys and girls players in grades K-8 for the upcoming season with online registration now available on the program's recently updated website. The 'fastest game on two feet' is also one of the fastest growing sports in the area with hundreds of young players participating in youth programs. OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department's boys' basketball league continued to roll on this week. The following is a brief glance at a handful of recent games: Dr. William Allen 42- Carousel Hotel 25: Josh King scored 21 points to lead all scorers while Shae Farmer added 10 as Dr. Allen's team prevailed.  OC Rec Boosters 47- Maui Golf 39: Jacob Welling scored 22 and Aaron Miller pitched in 17 as the Boosters rolled. Decatur Finishes Second in Arundel Duals

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's boys' varsity wrestling team last weekend made a strong showing at the 25th Annual Arundel Invitational Duals, reaching the team finals before falling to Hereford of Baltimore County in the championship match to finish second among 20 of the top wrestling schools in the state. Decatur blazed through the early rounds relatively unscathed, sweeping Clarksburg, Chesapeake and Howard by a combined team score of 202-27. OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department's men's winter basketball league continued this week with a full slate of games at Northside Park. The following is a quick look at some recent league action: Seacrets 114- Atlantic Orthopedic 71: Anthony Sturgis went off for 41 points and Curtis Chandler added 37 as Seacrets rolled Atlantic Orthopedic in a high scoring game. BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams continued to slide this week with each team falling to county rival Snow Hill on Tuesday. The Decatur boys' got plowed by county powerhouse Snow Hill, 104-44, on Tuesday as five Eagles scored in double digits. BERLIN- Before the big game on Sunday, local golf enthusiasts are encouraged to participate in a little pre-game golf action with the Super Bowl Scramble at Eagle's Landing. The creative tournament features a traditional four-player scramble format with a coach (the team's A player), a quarterback, a wide receiver and a running back. The Worcester County Youth Wrestling Junior Seahawks improved on their great season with a strong showing at a recent tournament at Sussex Central last week.
