Berlin Intermediate
School recently chose the first student of the day for
its "All About Attitude" program and fifth grader Hillary Jarman was
awarded the honor. Each day a student at BIS is honored by being chosen as
"Student of the Day." This student has exhibited a great attitude and
behaved in an outstanding way. Jarman, without being asked, used her own free
time to help another student organize her books during the first week of

The Tidewater School
by the Sea in Bishopville was one of many exhibitors during the recent Maryland
Coast Day at Assateague
State Park. Students of
the school were taught how to protect the coastal bays and enjoyed the
wonderful exhibits, animal programs, sand castle building, food and live music.

Paige Spangler, left,
16, and her brother Lane, 12, of Berlin,
finished the Rock •€˜N Roll Half Marathon (13.1 miles) in Virginia Beach on Labor Day. They were among
a field of 16,445 runners who were encouraged to the finish line by 20 live
bands and local high school cheerleading squads. All of the runners were given
free tickets to the Music Festival concerts in Virginia Beach that weekend. Lane is in
seventh grade at Worcester Prep and Paige is a junior.

Dominique Kunciw, a
senior at Worcester Prep, has been notified that she is one of the 2009
National Merit® Scholarship semifinalists. To be considered for a National
Merit Scholarship, students must score at top levels on the Preliminary
Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and then
