Stephen Decatur High School inducted 41 students last month into the first-ever Math Honor Society. Requirements included a 3.75 grade point average in math courses and enrollment in an advanced math course. The sixth grade Barracuda team of Berlin Intermediate School has made frequent visits to the Berlin Nursing Home as part of its Service Learning program. The residents and students met each other last fall. The students' lives were enriched through the mutual stories shared. Snow Hill Elementary School students celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday last week by reading his stories in class and feasting on Seuss character cakes. Claire Dorey, a seventh grade student at Worcester Prep, was one of the state winners in the annual Elks Essay Competition. She was honored at the statewide meeting of the Elks in Frederick, Md. and received a plaque and a check. With Dorsey is Elks President Priscilla Schwab, who presented the award.
