Fifty-five contestants took part in this year's OC-Berlin Optimist Oratorical Contest, representing the eighth grade at Stephen Decatur Middle School, the seventh grade at Snow Hill Middle, the ninthth grade at Stephen Decatur High School and the elementary and middle schools at Worcester Prep. The female winners were Claire Dorey, first place and a cash prize of $125; Elise Harmon, second place and a $75 prize; and Hannah Esham, third place and a $50 prize. On the male side, the winners were Rozaak Eniola, first place and a $125 prize; Gian-Lorenzo DeJesus, second place and a $75 prize; and Daniel Rosa, third place and a $50 prize
