The Bank of Ocean City continues to sponsor the live broadcast of Stephen Decatur High School's football games on WQMR 101.1FM this season. In addition, the bank is presenting a weekly plaque to the MVP of each game as well as making a $50 donation to the football program's athletic boosters. Showell Elementary students in Mrs. Johnson's third grade class read an adventure story about kids who found a lucky hat. Mrs. Johnson and her students wore their own lucky hats to school to connect with the story's plot.

Razaak Eniola, an eighth grade student at Worcester Preparatory School, receives a plaque in his honor from Optimist Oratorical Chairman Richard Caprone. The plaque was awarded for Razaak's achievements in the 2009 Optimist Oratorical competition. He placed first in the state competition and received a scholarship award of $1,500 in addition to other prizes.

Worcester Prep parent Jill ZiaShakeri, her sister-in-law Monir Mojtabaei and her children Aria, fifth grade, and Maya, fourth grade, presented a program at the Berlin school about Iran. The ZiaShakeri family traveled to Iran this summer, both to learn more about the country and to visit with Dr. Mahmoud ZiaShakeri's family members who live in Iran.
