BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's varsity swim teams earned a split in their first meet of the year with the girls edging Easton, 88-81, and the boys falling to the Warriors, 88-76.
For the girls' team, five swimmers took first in their respective races including two by Taylor Blazer. Blazer won two individual events including the 500-meter freestyle and the 200-meter individual medley, while Catelin Geiser won the 100-meter butterfly, Brianna Carroll won the 200-meter freestyle, Lindsey Bankert took the 100-meter backstroke and Ali McLoota won the 100-meter breaststroke.
The Decatur boys also swam well in their first meet of the season but came up a little short against Easton. Jake Blazer won two individual events including 200-meter individual medley and the 500-meter freestyle, while Bo Deskins won the 100-meter backstroke and Austin Deppe won the 100-meter butterfly.
