The Seahawks' got a scare on Tuesday, edging Parkside,
4-3, to remain unbeaten. Their record now stands at 10-0 with two regular
season matches left. Should the Seahawks win out, they will complete their
third unbeaten season in a row, a feat never accomplished in the 20-plus years
of the program. The Seahawks are also attempting to get to the Bayside
Conference championship for the third year in a row, which has also never been
accomplished by the tennis program.
Senior captain James Pack has led the way all season,
winning all of his matches this year. Pack also just won the USTA adult men's
singles match in Newark and has already committed to the University of Delaware
next year. Decatur's second singles player, Andrew Murrell, is also undefeated
this year. Other standouts on Decatur's unbeaten tennis team this year include
John Grimes, Dakota Marchio and Logan Rodriguez, along with doubles teams Kyle
Rodriguez-Kyle Hill, and Logan Hurt-Dylan Post.
