Showell Elementary second graders finished a unit on pioneers and
biographies with a wax museum where guests came to visit with the wax figures
who came to life to tell some interesting facts about their historical
character. Mel Salgueiro from Mrs. Armour's class portrays a pioneer and Jacob
Stack from Mrs. Thompson's class is the ultimate King Arthur.

the American Revolution Junior American Citizens competition, and five of those
went on to capture national prizes for their patriotic art and writing. The
