BERLIN - Atlantic
General Hospital recently appointed the following physicians to the medical
Kenny Iman, P.A.,
obtained his bachelor of science in respiratory therapy from Salisbury
University and his bachelor of science in physician assistant studies from the
University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Iman is a member of the American Academy
of Physician Assistants, Maryland Association of Physician Assistants, and the
National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Haider Sarraf, M.D., has
joined the medical staff at Atlantic General Hospital. Sarraf received his
medical degree from the University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq and is board
certified in internal medicine. Dr. Sarraf completed his residency at Franklin
Square Hospital in Baltimore.
Michael Stuart Davidson,
P.A., received his doctor Master of Medical Science (Physical Therapy) from
Saint Francis College, Loretto, Pa., and his Cardiovascular Perfusion/PA CT
Surgical PA Program from U.S. Army Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Davidson is
a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Army
Physician Assistants and the Maryland Academy of Physicians Assistants.

SALISBURY •€' Perdue has
announced a two-year project to remodel the Corporate Office building in
Salisbury. The new floor plan will include environmentally responsible design,
feature open spaces to encourage collaboration, and provide the technological infrastructure
to support a more productive work environment.

LEEDÂ® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building
certification for the renovation project with hopes of obtaining Gold status.
'We have the opportunity
as part of our remodel to look into new technologies and methodologies that can
help us have a smaller environmental footprint, in addition to saving money,'
said Steve Schwalb, vice president of Environmental Sustainability. 'The
certification helps guide us through the renovation process. It isn't only
about efficiency, but the whole package of responsible environmental design,
including associate comfort.'
According to the U.S.
Green Building Council, 'LEEDÂ® is an internationally recognized
green building certification system, providing third-party verification
that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at
improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings,
water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor
environmental quality, stewardship of resources and sensitivity to
Perdue will install a
new HVAC system within the renovated space, which, based on an engineering
study commissioned by Perdue, should reduce energy costs by 25 percent and will
create a more comfortable workspace. The parking lot was recently repaved and
spaces will be designated for high efficiency vehicles.
'The $12.8 million
remodel represents the most cost-effective way to provide the office space
needed to support our company's strategic and growth plans,' said Eileen Burza,
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. 'By implementing alternative
workspace solutions for selected jobs, we will renovate the existing space to
meet our needs and reduce our environmental impact, with significantly less
capital investment than either expanding the existing structure or building new
Perdue has signed a
short-term lease at the former Circuit City building in Salisbury, a few miles
from the corporate office, to free up the necessary space to begin the
Corporate Office remodel renovation. The company's Information Technology team
will temporarily work at the remodeled Circuit City building until they can
return to the Corporate Office.

SALISBURY - Karen
Poisker, RN, MSN, MBA, Vice President of Patient Care Services at Peninsula
Regional Medical Center, recently announced the realignment of responsibility
of three directors within the Patient Care Services Division at the Medical
director of Peninsula Regional's Emergency/Trauma Department, is now also
responsible for the Layfield Tower Intensive Care Unit, the Progressive Care
Unit and Hemodialysis, in addition to her current responsibilities leading the
Emergency/Trauma Center and Mental Health Services.
Sharon Malone, director
of Nursing Resources, is now leading staff on the 3West patient care unit and
TeleCentral, along with her current leadership of the Nursing Supervisors
Office, Bed Control, Flex Pool and Mobile Nursing Unit.
Finally, Mary Beth
D'Amico, director of Critical Care Services, has accepted the position of
Executive Director of Nursing Services at Peninsula Regional. Under this
role, D'Amico will be responsible for all acute inpatient nursing units, as
well as leading Peninsula Regional's CUSP (Comprehensive Unit Based Safety
Process) and Service Excellence initiatives - both major organizational efforts
designed to improve patient safety and satisfaction in the Medical Center's
acute, inpatient nursing units.
