Realtors Recycling Phones
OCEAN CITY - If there are any cell phones you're not using, consider donating them to a great cause.
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Ocean City on 120th Street is collecting old cell phones that will be recycled, with the proceeds going to Women Supporting Women, a local non-profit support group that provides awareness, education and support to those affected by breast cancer.
Phones can be mailed to or deposited in a basket in the lobby of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Ocean City, located at 12003 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Md. 21842
Sheila Hodges, a sales associate with the Ocean City office, has coordinated this collection effort for several years.
'I am a five-year breast cancer survivor and want to help other people who are battling this disease,' said Hodges. 'Many of us frequently update to new cell phones and have older models sitting unused in a drawer. Those phones can help the fight against cancer. •€¦ Another benefit to recycling cell phones is that it helps decrease the number of phones being thrown away, as they contain toxins that can pollute the environment.'
Cell phones will be collected on a regular, ongoing basis at the office, but arrangements can also be made to have your phones picked up.To find out more about donating a cell phone, contact Hodges at 410-723-7063.
