Coastal Lacrosse Event on Tap

5/06/2011 | By Shawn J. Soper, Sports Editor

BERLIN- The Coastal Lacrosse Club last weekend set a new league record by hosting 37 youth lacrosse games at the Northern Worcester County Athletic Complex in Berlin while two other club teams traveled to Delaware for other games.

The weather last weekend was ideal for the record-setting turnout of seven different youth lacrosse clubs from all over the Eastern Shore from both the ESYLA and DYLA leagues. The big turnout last week gave Coastal Lacrosse the opportunity to give back to another member of the local youth lacrosse community, Sierra Hall, who is facing serious medical issues.

During its events last weekend, Coastal Lacrosse promoted a “Sweets for Sierra” fundraiser, including baked goods prepared and sold by parents at the concession stand, the proceeds of which were donated to the Sierra Hall Benefit Fund. Coastal Lacrosse encourages anyone who would like to help Sierra to make a donation at any local Wilmington Trust Bank location.

Meanwhile, the club is holding its 3rd Annual High Tide Coastal Lacrosse Spring Social tomorrow evening, May 7, at Seacrets on 49th Street in Ocean City. For a $10 donation, participants will be treated to happy hour drink prices, great food specials and the sounds of Opposite Directions. There will be a 50-50 raffle, a silent auction and other events.
