BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity golf team enjoyed another successful week with two second-place finishes in two matches along with medal-winning performance by Nikki Rafer.
On Tuesday at Deer Run, which was hosting its first official high school match, Decatur shot a team score of 167 to finish second to Parkside. Decatur’s Nikki Rafer shot a one-under 34 to take individual honors and the medal in the match, while Joe Iacona shot 37, Delaney Iacona and Audrey Affelder each shot 48 and Andrew Urban finished with a 50. Parkside shot a team-low 155, led by Brendan McAllister’s 35.
On the season, Parkside is now in first place in the team standings with six points, followed by the Seahawks with nine points. Decatur has won one match and has four second-place finishes, while Parkside has won four and finished second once.
