Five Local Gold Star Mothers Honored

Five local Gold Star Mothers were honored on Sept. 5 at the 4th Annual Patriot Day Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Clarion Hotel in Ocean City. The event is organized by the Republican Women of Worcester County (RWWC). Pictured, from left, are Toni Coffland (son Christopher, US Army, Afghanistan, 2009); Colleen Eastman (son Sean Michael, USAF, North Carolina, 2002); Mary Suplee (son Daniel, US Army, Kuwait, 2006); Vina Bailey (son Keith Bailey, USMC, Beirut, Lebanon, 1983); and Kit Federico (son David Hart, USMC, Vietnam, 1967). The event raises funds for the RWWC Caring for America/Literacy projects including Valentines for Veterans, Worcester G.O.L.D., Home of the Brave, Veterans Memorial, scholarships, and literature for local libraries and schools.
