Tuesday, July 10 – Artists To Set Up Shop In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY – The Art League of Ocean City (ALOC) will be holding its second Ocean City Paint Out July 12 – 15.

"These plein air, painting in the out of doors, events have become quite popular," said ALOC President Rina Thaler. "This year we’re suggesting that artists concentrate on the downtown area but the entire town will be open to them."

Artists will set up their easels throughout the downtown where they will have an array of subjects – seascapes, cityscapes, bayscapes, historical sites, people, etc. There will be an exhibit and sale of the Paint Out works on Sunday, July 15, on Somerset St. from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

The ALOC has worked with the Ocean City Development Corporation, overseer of the events on Somerset St., several times in the past to encourage residents and visitors into the downtown area.

The ALOC gallery is located at 502 94th St. There is a monthly exhibit with an opening First Friday of the month reception that is free and open to the public. Monetary prizes are awarded as well as a People’s Choice award.  Workshops in many media are offered for beginners and experienced artists. Children’s classes are offered throughout the year.
