Evelyn Martha Groff Boynton

BERLIN – Evelyn Martha Groff Boynton, 88, of Berlin and formerly of Dundalk, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 27, 2008, at Coastal Hospice by the Lake.

Born May 23, 1920, in Pennsyvania, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Martha Groff, of Rosedale, Md.

She was married to Charles Benham Boynton for 45 years, making their home in Dundalk, Md. and later in Ocean City. Her husband preceded her in death.

She was a member of Dundalk Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church of Ocean City. 

She leaves living memories with her three children, Janice Ilene Grau and her husband, Ken, of Berlin, Charlotte Beverly Wienhold and her husband, William, of Baltimore and Nelson Payne Boynton and his wife, Janet, of Parsonsburg, and with Merle Leroy Fisher and his wife, Helen, of Fisherville, Va., whom she always considered to be her son, adopted by love; four grandchildren, Eric Wienhold, Adam Wienhold and his wife, Stephanie, all of Baltimore, Charles Chin and his wife, Tina of Romeoville, Ill., and Kelle Ian Grau, of Berlin, three great-grandchildren, Rylie and Gavin Wienhold of Baltimore, and Kyle Chin of Romeoville, Ill.; a sister, Vilma Armandt, of Baltimore; a brother, V. Rodger Groff  and sister-in-law, Rosemarie Groff of Apex, N.C.; nieces, Paula Isett, Ellen Wolfe,  Lynda Bracey, Judy Brown and Susan Breisch, nephews, Neal Armandt, Lynford Groff, Jr.; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, was her son, Charles Benham Boynton, Jr., who died in Vietnam, a brother, Lynford Groff, and a grandson, Lance Ian Grau.

A Celebration of Life service will be held July 17 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Ocean City.  Officiating will be Reverend Merle Fisher and Reverend Alex Ayers.  Interment will be at a later date in the family plot in Baltimore, following a private graveside service for family members.

Kathleen Blake Krun

LEWES, Del. – Kathleen Blake Krun, age 62, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Beebe Medical Center due to complications of cancer.

Born in West Orange, N.J., she was the daughter of the late James Blake and Marion Hooper Blake. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael A. Krun.

Krun had worked as a dental hygienist with the Dental Group of Lewes, Del. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She loved her two dogs Dora and Tallula.

Along with her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Karen Detter and her husband Earl of Wilmington, Del.; two sisters, Ellen Graham and her husband Jim of Virginia Beach, Va. and Judy Barns and her husband Don of California; and one grandson, E.J. Detter, who is 5 years old. She was preceded in death by a son, Andy J. Krun, and two sisters, Bonnie Stackhouse and Ann Griswald.

Services were held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Rd., Lewes, Del. 19958. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Erin J. McTernan

BERLIN – Erin J. McTernan, age 78, died Monday, July 1, 2008 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael Judge and Mary Ann Fallen Judge. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McTernan.

She is survived by a sister, Dympna Jessich of Ocean Pines; a step-son, James McTernan; three step-daughters, Patricia Tarr and her husband Tim, Barbara McTernan, and Karen Rogers and her husband Robert. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mychal F. Judge.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
