Harold Albert Littleton

BERLIN – Harold Albert Littleton, Sr., age 78, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at his home in Libertytown.

Born in Libertytown he was the son of the late Herman Littleton and Margie Dennis Littleton. He was preceded in death by his wife Henrietta Lane Littleton in 2001

He is survived by three sons, William Dale Littleton and his wife Opal of Pittsville, Harold Wayne Littleton and his wife Gerri of Ocean Pines and Harold Albert Littleton, Jr. of Libertytown; two daughters, Sheila Ann Littleton and Donna Lynn Littleton both of Libertytown; six grandchildren, Cody Littleton, Hailey Littleton, Shane Niblett, Christina Littleton, Stephanie Littleton and Nicole Littleton; devoted friend Barbara Parker of Pittsville and extended family; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his numerous devoted pets. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ralph and Lester Littleton.

Littleton had been a poultry grower and farmer for many years. He had worked for 22 years with Dresser Industries and had worked in maintenance at the Bay Club Golf Course in Berlin. He was a member of the Delmarva Poultry Growers Assoc., Worcester County Farm Bureau and Faith Chapel Presbyterian Church in Libertytown.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at Buckingham Presbyterian Church in Berlin. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev’s Gary Baer, Billy Cropper and Olin Shockley will officiate. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Libertytown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Worcester County Humane Society, PO Box 48, Berlin, Md. 21811 or to The Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, PO Box 3627, Ocean City, Md. 21843.

Jean Elizabeth Strang

SALISBURY – Jean Elizabeth Strang, age 79, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Peekskill, N.Y. she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Foster Strang.

She is survived by her brother, Charles Strang and his wife Joan and her sister Louise Marie Strang, all of Ocean Pines, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Howard Strang.

Strang had worked in customer service for 30 years with Readers Digest.

She was a Sunday School teacher, choir member and Treasurer of the First Baptist Church of Peekskill, NY and a member of the Peekskill Senior

Citizens Club.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Atlantic United Methodist Church on 4th St. and Baltimore Ave. in Ocean City. Rev. George Godfrey will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Coastal Hospice at the Lake, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21804.

Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Frances Rosina Blank

BERLIN – Frances Rosina Blank, age 95, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 at the Mifflin Center in Reading, Pa.

Born in Berlin, she was the daughter of the late John Dale Rayne and Helen Roland Bell Rayne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Blank.

Blank had worked as a hairstylist and was the original owner and operator of Rosina’s Beauty Salon in Berlin. She had been an antique dealer for many years. She had volunteered during WWII to drive Colonel’s staff cars, and she participated as a horse owner in the standard bred racing circuit. She was an avid golfer and a life master in Bridge.

She is survived by a daughter, Janiesse Currey and her husband Orville of Reading, Pa.

A graveside service was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Berlin. Rev. Carol Price officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, Texas 75244 or to Kennedy Krieger Foundation, Inc., 707 North Broadway, Baltimore, Md. 21205.
