Lax Club Among Top in the Country

OCEAN CITY- In only three years the Greene Turtle Girls Lacrosse Club has established its place among the top girls lacrosse club programs in the country.

Nineteen out of 21 players from this year’s graduating 2009 team are going on to play lacrosse in college.  The college recruitment process for women’s lacrosse has changed dramatically over the past seven years, with virtually all college coaches utilizing the club tournament circuit as their primary source for watching potential recruits.

The club is pleased to congratulate the following Greene Turtle girls on their college choice and their decision to play lacrosse in college: From Stephen Decatur High School, Olivia Turner, Towson University; Alyssa Hardesty, Jacksonville University; Erin McGuire, Davidson; Charlotte Deck, University of South Carolina. From Worcester Prep: Alexandra Smith, Christopher Newport; Caitlin Miller, Queens University; Anna Townsend and Sophie Townsend, Rollins College; Elizabeth Hudson, Franklin & Marshall; and Hillary Roughton, University of South Carolina.

Other college bound Greene Turtle Lax Club alums include Stacy Ruark, Queens University; Carly Dobson, Lynchburg; Allie Gamble, Pffiefer University; Lily Sanford, Frostburg; Kelsey Henshaw, Navy; Kristina Robertson, St. Mary’s College; Tory Beasley, Shenandoah University; and Leigh Ann Redefer, Mary Washington.
