Tuesday, July 21-Springfest 2010 Headline Acts Announced

OCEAN CITY – Tickets for Ocean City’s 2010 Springfest headline acts go on sale

10 a.m. Friday, July 24. An exciting line-up of musical entertainment has been scheduled and you will want to get your tickets now for the best seats in the house. Set for May 6-9, 2010, Springfest will present Captain Fantastic, the Country Rat Pack Tour and the Teen Idols.

On Thursday, May 6 at 8 p.m., take a musical journey with the Rocket Man, Captain Fantastic, the premier Elton John Tribute Show. Captain Fantastic and the Rocketband perform stunning re-creations of your favorite Elton John hits from the 70s. You’ll be amazed with the costumes that go from bizarre to breathtaking, not to mention the baby grand piano that will shower you with lights, smoke, lasers and a few surprises. Tickets for this fantastic show are $5 and $10.

On Friday, May 7, the evening headline act features the Country Rat Pack Tour of Tracy Byrd, Tracy Lawrence and Richie McDonald. This show promises an evening of unplugged songs and stories from the hit makers. Tracy Byrd’s hits have included “Lifestyles of the Not So Rich and Famous,” “Watermelon Crawl” and “The Keeper of the Stars,” just to mention a few. Then there’s Tracy Lawrence’s hits to consider, including “You Find Out Who Your Friends Are,” “Alibis” and “Time Marches On.” Add Richie McDonald, former star front man of Lonestar, whose hits include “Mr. Mom,” “What About Now” and “Amazed,” and a night of spectacular country music is guaranteed.

Ticket prices for the Rat Pack Tour range from $20 to $40.

On Saturday, May 8, take a trip down Memory Lane, with the Teen Idols – Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits, Micky Dolenz of The Monkees and Mark Lindsay, former lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders.

With more than a combined 175 million records sold, the Teen Idols promise a night filled with special songs. From Peter Noone who led Herman’s Hermits through the British Invasion with hits like “I’m Henry VIII, I Am” and “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” to Micky Dolenz, the lead singer of the chart-busting television phenomenon group The Monkees and hits like “I’m a Believer” and “Last Train to Clarksville,” to Mark Lindsay’s “Indian Reservation” and “Arizona,” a truly special evening is yours to enjoy. Tickets are from $20 to $47.

Tickets for all headline acts go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, July 24 at the box office located in the Roland E. Powell Convention Center on 40th Street.  Box office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. You may also order through TicketMaster at 1-800-551-7328 or www.ticketmaster.com.

Tickets also are still available for Sunfest 2009 headliners. On Thursday, September 24, The Village People entertain with ticket prices at just $15 to $25. Then on Friday, September 25, enjoy the country harmony of Little Big Town with tickets from $20 to $40. On Saturday, September 26, Rick Springfield rocks the Sunfest stage. Tickets range from $20 to $50.
