West Virginia Fugitive Nabbed in Resort

OCEAN CITY- A West Virginia man wanted on child pornography and child sexual assault charges was located and arrested in Ocean City last weekend on Halloween.

Last Saturday, Ocean City Police received an alert to be on the lookout for Roger Stotler, 45, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, who was believed to be in the resort area. Stotler was wanted in West Virginia for possession of child pornography and sexual assault of a minor in West Virginia and law enforcement officials there alerted Ocean City Police he might be in the area.

Armed with information about the suspect, Ocean City patrol officers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description provided by West Virginia State Police in the area of 112th Street and Coastal Highway. The vehicle was parked and unoccupied when it was discovered by resort police. Officers continued to search the immediate area and were able to locate Stotler walking on Coastal Highway.

Stotler was arrested and taken before an Ocean City District Court Commissioner and was ordered held without bond. Stotler was transferred to the Worcester County Jail where he is being held while awaiting extradition to West Virginia.
