Arthur Francis Carley

BISHOPVILLE – Arthur Francis Carley, better known as Skip, age 57, passed into eternal life on Dec. 15, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Penelope Carley, and Penny’s family that he helped raise, educate and love beginning with Robert Tanner, Jr., Lori and Scott Tanner; two grandsons, Kyle and Dylan Tanner; daughter Tamara and Mike Bubczyk; and granddaughter Ashley Hall. Also, sisters Joan Walker, Kathy Carley, Margie Grebin, Sharon Ayersman, Susan Merritt, Rita George, Christine Izaza, Patricia F. Carley and Loretta L. Carley.

He attended Holy Redeemer and Albert Einstein schools.

Carley met Penny while she was on vacation on Big Pine Key, Fla. He came to Maryland after living in the Keys for 10 years, assisted in mother in relocation from Gaithersburg to Ocean City in 1985 and built a loving relationship with Penny.

He was a licensed Maryland Realtor who served as chairman of the Equal Opportunity Committee for the Coastal Association of Realtors and then chairman of the same for the Maryland Association of Realtors. He initiated and enforced programs to further promote equality at all levels serving on a committee for five years. Retiring from real estate, he reestablished his residential custom painting business that he loved and displayed superb craftsmanship leaving his skill very much in demand.

He was a dedicated fisherman who competed in and won many small boat tournaments. He loved the bay and the ocean and most of all just loved nature.

He loved gardening and had taken growing vegetables for his family very seriously. He was serious about all his endeavors including the battle for survival. He gallantly took nutrition and hope for the future as his dedication to live but God had other plans.

A service will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on Dec. 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. for visiting and noon for mass. The family is hoping all whose life was touched by Skip will plan to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Women Supporting Women and/or to Worcester County Humane Society.

Eline Funeral Home in Reisterstown, Md. is handling the arrangements.

Joseph Edwin Pusey Jr.

SALISBURY – Joseph Edwin Pusey Jr., 35, died Dec. 19, 2009.

He was born in Salisbury to Joseph Edwin Pusey Sr. and the late Doris Mae Bradford. 

He was a graduate of Snow Hill High School.

He is survived by his father, Joseph Pusey Sr.; step-mother, Kathy Pusey; son, Joseph Edwin Pusey III; daughter, Chelsie Lynn Pusey; step-sister, Lisa Gray; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Salisbury Fire Dept., 325 Cypress St, Salisbury, Md. 21801.
