Ralph
J. Hoen Jr.

BERLIN
– Ralph J. Hoen Jr. died on July 9, 2010.

He was
the beloved husband of the late Alice C. nee Crane; devoted father of Lelia H.
Masaschi, Susan H. Hoen and the late Donald C. Hoen; devoted brother of Leonard
Hoen and the late Donald C. and Louis Hoen; and devoted grandfather of Jennifer
Dotson, Katherine Melito, Christopher Hoen, James Masaschi, Sarah Zistler,
Carolyn Singer and Matthew Masaschi. He is also survived by 18 great
grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A
former resident of Towson, Hoen for the past 30 years resided in the Ocean City
area after his retirement from the Fairchild Hiller Corporation in Germantown.
He was active in his parish at Holy Savior Church and the Knights of Columbus
and also served for many years with the South Point Community Association. He
served in the Army during World War II in Germany.

A
memorial service will be held in Berlin at a future date to be announced.

Norman
E. Meads

OCEAN
CITY – Norman E. Meads, Sr., age 88, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at
Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in
Baltimore, he was the son of the late John Andrew Meads and Alvina Roberts
Meads. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorthea Petersen Meads.
Meads had been a truck driver by profession and was a member of Teamsters Local
557 in Baltimore. He was a World War II Army veteran and ex-prisoner of war.

Along
with his wife, he is survived by his children, Joyce L. Tillbery and her
husband Leo of Selbyville, Kathleen Meads O’Connor of Ocean City, Norman E.
Meads, Jr. and his wife Martha of Upperco, Md. and Donna Meads Eckstein and her
husband John of Ellicott City; seven grandchildren; and four great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Col. John A. Meads, Jr.
Services were held.

Sylvia Schiff

BERLIN
– Sylvia Schiff, 85, died July 7, 2010 at the Berlin Nursing Home.

Born in
Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Abraham Grodnitzky and Bessie
Chernock Grodnitzky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isadore Schiff.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Brisson and her husband James, of
Williamsville, Vt. and Marilyn Auriemma and her husband Bruce, of Hackettstown,
N.J. She was beloved grandmother to Brian and Allison Auriemma and
great-grandson Ian Auriemma. She also leaves a brother, Milton Grodnitzky of
Owings Mills.

Schiff
was a homemaker who led a very active and full life.

Chesser

BERLIN
– Mary G. Chesser, age 75, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Atlantic
General Hospital in Berlin.

Born in
New York, she was the daughter of the late John Germanos and Anastasia Chiadis
Germanos. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Chesser, in 2006.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Berlin and the Ladies of South
Point.
She is survived by her two sons, John M. Chesser of Baltimore and T. Scott
Chesser and his wife Sherrie Hapner of Baltimore; a sister, Barbara Sitaris
of Towson; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held. Arrangements handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Francis
Allen Allman
SNOW HILL – Francis Allen Allman, age 78, died Monday, July
12, 2010 at Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke City.

Born in
Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Susan Willy Allman. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja Jane Simpson Allman, in 2002.
Allman was a United States Navy veteran. He had worked in maintenance with
Moore’s Business Forms in Snow Hill.

He is
survived by his children, William Albert Allman and his wife Sharon, John Barry
Allman, Brenda Lee Zulinski and her husband Frank all of Snow Hill and Victoria
Lynn Allman of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tracy Lee Wessels, Daniel Kerstetter,
Dawn E. Wood, Monica Kerstetter, Amanda J. Zulinski, Michael Spencer and Rachel
Leigh Allman; eight great
grandchildren, Amier, Camren, Rachel, Kristen, Alyssa, Leigh, Sonja and Danny;
and two brothers, William Allman of New Jersey and Donald Allman of Ohio.

Services
were held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Snow Hill Volunteer
Fire Department, 4718 Snow Hill Rd., Snow Hill, Md. 21863.

John
Warner Gore

OCEAN
PINES – John Warner Gore, age 71, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Atlantic
General Hospital in Berlin. Born in Towson, he was the son of the late Wesley
Gore and Regina Hardesty Gore. He is survived by his wife, Rita Pfeiffer Gore.
Gore had been a restaurant manager and had worked at Conner’s Restaurant in
Ocean City.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Dwayne Gore of Forest
Hill, Md. and Melanie Dell’Arciprete and her husband Jesse of Jarrettsville,
Md.; two grandchildren, Brandy and Vincent Dell’Arciprete; and a brother,
Thomas Gore and his wife Cindy of Owings Mills.

A
private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers
donations may be made to the Worcester County Humane Society, PO Box 48,
Berlin, Md. 21811.
