Eileen Theresa Riccio

OCEAN CITY — Eileen Theresa Riccio, 68, died April 23, 2011. She was born in Queens, NY to the late John and Margaret Casey.  

Eileen is survived by her husband, Charles Riccio; son, William Riccio, daughter Elaine Tellerday; son, Charles Riccio; daughter, Dawn Riccio; grandchildren, Mitchell Tellerday, Jack Tellerday, Nicholas Riccio and Erin Riccio; sister, Mary McCabe; and sister, Kathleen Walsh.

A visitation was held at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin on Wednesday, April 27. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church on Thursday, April 28.

Arrangements are in the care of the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.  

Crystal L. Gauss

OCEAN CITY — Crystal L. Gauss, 68, of Ocean City and formerly of Emmitsburg, Md., died Saturday, April 23 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Frederick Gauss, Sr.

She was a licensed Realtor and founded Crystal Valley Realty in 1985. She retired in 2005. She was a former member of the Emmitsburg Business and Professional Association and the Emmitsburg Historical Society.

Born Sept. 4, 1942, in Ashland, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Doris Wiley-Woodall.

She is survived by three sons, Robert F. Gauss, Jr. and wife Robin of Emmitsburg, Md., James E. Gauss and wife Shannon of Waynesboro, Pa., and J. Christopher Gauss Sr. and wife Kathy of Cascade, Md.; eight grandchildren and two step grandchildren, Amber Collins, Jordan Gauss, Kellen Gauss, Megan Crilly, Ryan Gauss, Brittany Gauss, Jon Gauss Jr., Jamon Gauss, Kyle Roberts and Jerry Roberts; three great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Terry and Nancy Pearod; one niece, Susan Penrod; and one nephew, Andrew Penrod, all of Brick, N.J.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 12 at Incarnation United Church of Christ, 124 W. Main Street, Emmitsburg, Md. with the Rev. Penick officiating. The service will be followed by a luncheon at Joanne’s Ballroom at the Carriage House Inn, South Seton Ave., Emmitsburg.

Desales Larkin Konen

SALISBURY — On April 12, 2011, Desales Larkin Konen passed away at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was 76 years old.

DeSales was born in Baltimore in 1935. She is the daughter of the late John E. Larkin and Katherine D. Larkin. She was proceeded in death by her brother, John (Jack) Larkin Jr.

DeSales grew up in Catonsville and  was a retired executive secretary for The Rouse Company in Columbia, Md. DeSales had a great love for the beach and moved to Ocean Pines after retiring from the Rouse Company.

She is survived by her beloved husband, John Bernard Konen of Ocean Pines; son, Basil Clarke Green Jr. of Bethesda; daughters Katherine G. Kamowski of Baldwin and Michelle G. Cardwell of Bishopville; and five grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. on May 7, 2011 at Saint Marks Church, 26 Melvin Avenue, Catonsville, Md. 21228.
