BERLIN — Raymond M. Thompson, President and CEO of Calvin B. Taylor Bankshares, Inc. and Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company, has announced that Louis H. Taylor has joined the Board of Directors of the holding company and the Bank.
Taylor, a Bishopville native, is the principal of Stephen Decatur High School, a Maryland Blue Ribbon School. During Taylor’s 27 years of employment in Worcester County Public Schools, he has served as teacher, coach, assistant principal and, since 1995, principal. He was Principal of the Year for the State of Maryland for the 1998-1999 school year.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Taylor serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at Atlantic General Hospital and Chairman of the Board of Hudson Health Services. He is a director of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and the Salisbury University Varsity Club.

WILLARDS — The designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) has been conferred upon Steve Soliday, account executive of Atlantic/Smith, Cropper & Deeley in Willards, following the successful completion of a rigorous insurance education program sponsored by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.
Currently, more than 29,500 agents and insurance professionals throughout the country have received the CIC designation.

Having received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus in 1986, Allen holds a variety of licenses and designations, including the Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses and Life/Health Licenses. She received her Charter Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designation from the College for Financial Planning.
She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the American Women in Business Association, Entrepreneur’s Exchange Group.
OCEAN CITY – Reena Oettinger, President of Old Dominion Investment Corp., has announced that Kristi F. Connell was recognized by the Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards for successfully fulfilling the rigorous requirements to become a Certified Financial Planner professional, which represents the highest standard of certification in financial planning.
“I’m proud to say that I have earned the CFP® certification, an achievement that places me in a group of financial planners who have met the rigorous standards of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards,” Connell said.
Connell now joins a group of Certified Financial Planner professionals who have voluntarily agreed to abide by high standards of ethical conduct and client service. In addition to maintaining high standards of ethical conduct and client service, they are professionals are required to report 30 hours of continuing education courses every two years.
